Ok, the first portrait in colour.
I know, I said there was going to be another WIP after this one here: [link] but I got carried away until I finished it. Anyway, as said in that sketch in my scraps, the model here is my daughter Lara. And ain't she a beauty Photoshop CS3, standard brushes, Genius 4500 digital tablet, one photo reference. Original size is 6000x4000 px 300 ppi. Comments and critiques are most welcome. If you like it, let me know. Cova |

I do feel the eye on the right (her left eye) is at a different angle from her other eye. The eyes feel just a tad bit wide set to me and they do measure more than one eye width apart. The upper part of her nose feels like it's just a touch too far to the right (her left again), her septum seems a bit too wide and her nostrils appear to be at different angles. Her age seems oddly indeterminate. The proportions and shape of her face and size of her irises suggest she is a child, yet the lack of gloss in her hair and the lines and shadows around her eyes make her look almost middle aged. She seems to be both 7 and 40 at the same time. That isn't necessarily bad, as it lends an aura of mystery to this that makes you wonder about the subject and her story, but I feel there needs to be more to it to make us question what the reality is.
I'm sorry, I know you didn't ask for advanced critique, but I felt I had a lot to say about this if I was going to say anything.
Great work, your technique brings wonderful results.
